Kevin VandenBroeke, Esq., LLM-Tax
Kevin VandenBroeke, Esq., LLM-Tax, is a licensed Tax Attorney admitted to the State Bar of California as well as to the U.S. Tax Court. He brings a wealth of legal knowledge and skill to the firm due to his broad-ranging educational background and work experience.
Mr. VandenBroeke received his B.A. in criminal justice from California State University, Fullerton. Subsequently, he graduated from the Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law with a Juris Doctor as well as a Master of Laws in Taxation. He attended both programs on merit scholarships, including the Bechtel Tax Law Scholarship, and during his J.D. years was the business editor of the Nexus Journal of Law and Policy and received the CALI Award for the highest-class grade in the U.S. Tax Court Clinic. As part of this clinical course, he successfully advocated on behalf of clients to the IRS as a student Attorney.
During law school, Mr. VandenBroeke worked as a legal extern at ZipTax, LLC, and a law clerk for the BP Law Group, LLP, as well as the Law Office of Susan A. Katzen. During his Master of Laws program, Mr. VandenBroeke began working for the Tax Institute at H&R Block as a tax research specialist, where he evaluated tax questions received by clients, researched applicable law and regulations, and determined the best tax treatment for the client in an accurate and timely manner. Upon completion of both of his post graduate degrees, Mr. VandenBroeke was promoted to the Lead Tax Research Analyst at the Tax Institute, a role in which he trained, supervised, and led a team of up to 50 seasonal tax research specialists.
